Gas Emergencies
If you smell gas:
1. Outdoors, keep away from area. Go to Step 3.
2. Indoors, leave the building immediately.
- Do not turn the lights on or off.
- Do not make phone calls, including your cell phone, from inside.
- Do not light a match, smoke or operate appliances.
3. Call 911 and your natural gas utility (if you know the number) from a safe distance.
4. Wait until emergency services personnel or the natural gas utility informs you that it is safe to return to the building.
